Description
-The Story
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar “150th Anniversary” collection is a celebration of the Swiss manufacture’s rich heritage and its relentless pursuit of innovation since 1875. The 2025 novelties pay tribute to Audemars Piguet’s legacy through a series of technically advanced and historically inspired watches. The openworked model (ref. 26585XT) is a final tribute to the Calibre 5135 movement, which had powered the brand’s openworked perpetual calendars for nearly a decade. It is inspired by a vintage pocket watch from the 1990s (Ref. 25729PT) exhibited in the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet. Simultaneously, the collection marks a new era with the introduction of the Calibre 7138—a revolutionary perpetual calendar mechanism controlled entirely through the crown, eliminating the need for tiny adjustment pushers. This is a direct response to the desire for a more ergonomic and user-friendly wearing experience. These limited-edition models also feature subtle anniversary details, including a vintage “Audemars Piguet” signature on the moon phase and a special “150” engraving on the caseback.
-How to Care for the Product
Owning a high-complication timepiece like this requires expert care to ensure it remains in perfect working order.
-
Professional Servicing: It is recommended to have your Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar serviced by an authorized service center every 4 to 5 years to maintain its complex perpetual calendar mechanism and automatic movement.
-
Calibration and Adjustment: The intricate functions, including the perpetual calendar and moon phase, should only be adjusted or recalibrated by a certified Audemars Piguet watchmaker with the specific expertise required for these high complications.
-
Water Resistance: Despite its 20m water resistance, regular maintenance of gaskets and water resistance testing is crucial to protect the watch against moisture and dust ingress.
-
Warranty Coverage: All Audemars Piguet watches purchased through their authorized network come with a five-year international warranty against manufacturing defects, applicable from 1st January 2017.
